Lady Antebellum Rajai Grammy Award

Band country asal Nashville, Lady Antebellum, menjadi bintang dalam anugerah musik paling bergengsi, Grammy Award ke-53 yang digelar di Staples Centre, Los Angeles, Amerika Serikat, Minggu (13/2/2011). Trio ini berhasil membawa pulang 5 piala Grammy. Lagu mereka Need You Now menjadi song of the year.

Grup yang terdiri dari Charles Kelley, Hillary Scott, dan Dave Haywood itu menenggelamkan musisi yang telah malang melintang di jagat musik dunia, seperti Eminem dengan album Recovery, Lady Gaga dengan album The Fame Monster, dan Katy Perry dengan album Teenage Dream. Sayangnya, kategori paling bergengsi di ajang itu, yakni Album of The Year, disabet Arcade Fire, band asal Montreal, dengan album The Suburbs.

Lady Antebellum berjaya untuk kategori record of the year, song of the year, best country performance by a duo or group with vocal, best country song, dan best country album. Sementara Eminem hanya meraih dua penghargaan melalui kategori best rap album dan best rap solo performance untuk lagu Not Affraid, meski dia dijagokan untuk 10 kategori. Kesialan juga dialami Justin Beiber yang masuk nominasi untuk kategori best new artist, karena penghargaan untuk kategori ini jatuh ke tangan penyanyi jazz Esperanza Spalding.
